Autumn Flavours Arrive at The George 🍂
There’s something magical about the first bite of a new season. The colours change, the flavours deepen and every dish feels like a celebration of what’s fresh and new.
This Wednesday 17th September, our new autumn menu makes its debut at The George in Hathersage – and you’re invited to be among the very first to experience it.
Crafted by Longbow Venues Executive Chef Adrian Gagea, this menu is a journey through the autumn season. Think rich, slow-cooked meats, vibrant root vegetables, indulgent desserts and unexpected twists that bring warmth and comfort to cooler evenings.

A menu inspired by the season
Autumn in the Peak District is about abundance.
From butternut squash and beetroots to heritage carrots and orchard fruits, this is the time of year when ingredients are at their very best. Adrian and the kitchen team have worked closely with local farmers, dairies and small producers to build a menu that reflects the season honestly — simple, thoughtful cooking that lets the produce shine.
A taste of what’s waiting
Here’s a little glimpse of what you can expect:
- Goat’s Cheese & Cranberry Croquette with beetroot & cashew purée, rocket and spiced toasted cashew nuts (GF, V)
- Slow-Cooked Porchetta stuffed with pork ragu & spinach, served with creamy mash and roasted heritage carrots (GF)
- Venison Meatballs Marinara Pizza — bold and hearty, perfect after a day exploring the Peak District
- Chai & Cardamom Panna Cotta with caramelised peaches and dark cherry compote (GF)
And of course, We’ve kept some of your favourites on the menu too — like our Sage & Chorizo Stuffed Pork Fillet and traditional Beer-Battered Cod with triple-cooked chips.
