The ethos behind our menus is simple: it must be local, fresh, accessible and food that our guests would want to enjoy with us. The George brings together the typical pub menu with a modern twist. From wood-fired pizzas and chargrilled steaks to our diverse selection of burgers, we are there for you, for all occasions. Our menus, carefully designed by our Executive Chef, Adrian Gagea and Head Chef James Heywood, are made with all dietary requirements in mind, including a big focus on gluten free and plant-based options.

Are your pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven?
Yes, all pizzas are made on sourdough bases and cooked in a traditional wood-fired oven, delivering a crisp base with a light, smoky flavour. Available daily in the restaurant, bar or courtyard.
Does The George serve Afternoon Tea?
Yes, Afternoon Tea is available Monday to Saturday with 24 hours' advance notice. Choose from a classic or savoury option with sandwiches, homemade cakes and scones with clotted cream and jam. Prices start from £21.95 per person, with an optional fizz upgrade.

Breakfast at The George is served daily from 8am until 11am. Both hotel guests and non-residents are welcome to enjoy breakfast in the restaurant or bar area.
