At The George, we love celebrating the incredible people who make our venue such a special place. This month, we’re shining the spotlight on Joe, who has truly gone above and beyond in his role as Sous Chef.
Stepping up as Sous Chef
Joe recently took on the position of full-time Sous Chef, and in the past 10 days he has risen to the challenge of running the kitchen without the Head Chef. In that time, he has shown not only his skill and reliability, but also his commitment to the whole team.
From managing orders, stock levels, labour and rotas to making sure that service ran smoothly every day, Joe has kept everything under control with a calm and professional approach. Thanks to his leadership, the kitchen didn’t miss a beat — not a single item ran out, and the team worked with a fantastic morale behind it all.
Leading by example
What really stands out about Joe is his dedication to others. During this busy period, he also helped train two junior commis chefs and welcomed a new CDP into the team, showing patience and guidance every step of the way.
He never questioned the long hours or extra responsibility. Instead, he knuckled down, kept smiling and proved what it means to lead by example.
A well-deserved recognition
Joe’s first experience as a manager has been nothing short of inspiring, and we couldn’t be prouder to celebrate his achievement as Employee of the Month. His hard work, positive attitude and commitment to teamwork make him a true asset to The George and to the wider Longbow Venues family.
